CAPE TOWN – Fourteen drunk drivers have been arrested in the Western Cape since the start of the weekend.
Eighteen motorists have also been prosecuted for driving at an excessively high speed.
Officials issued fines of more than R187,000.
Provincial traffic chief Kenny Africa said: “The highest reading recorded in the Worcester area was 1.48mg/1000ml. The driver was six times over the legal limit. In Somerset West, a driver was arrested for being in possession of a false driver’s license.”
