OWERRI CITY – Nigeria’s Imo State has bestowed its highest award on President Jacob Zuma.
The Imo Merit Award honours distinguished personalities who develop their communities.

The state also unveiled a bronze statue of Zuma, and named a road after him.

But some Nigerians took to Twitter to criticise the decision.
They accused him of failing to prevent attacks against Nigerians living in South Africa.
