CAPE TOWN – A newborn baby boy’s body has been found in a bin in Bellville.
The City of Cape Town’s law enforcement officers made the discovery on Thursday while on patrol at the Bellville public transport interchange.
Members of the public informed officers of a suspicious bundle wrapped in a black sweater in a waste bin.
The City’s Wayne Dyason says the deceased baby’s parents have not yet come forward.
“Officers opened the bundle and discovered it contained a fully formed newborn baby boy. The ambulance service was called and they declared the baby deceased. The case was handed over to Bellville SAPS who will investigate the incident.”
