CENTURY CITY – Residents of Century City neighbourhood fear they will lose their views and millions of rands off their property values if plan to build a block of flat on their doorstep goes ahead.
According to Table Talk, this plan irked the residents who have vowed to fight developer’s application to rezone 4 skyliner Avenue from ‘community” to “general residential” to make way for their flats.
Motion Projects approached Century City Property Owners’ Association, which owns the property, to build the three-storey block of 105 “affordable” flats.
The deadline for the objections is Monday October 9, but some residents say they have still not seen an official letter in the post notifying them of the application
Those opposing the plan say it will also threaten birds and other creatures at Intaka Island and cause possible flooding if man-made stormwater pond is shrunk to accommodate the development.
