CAPE TOWN – A total of 560 suspects was put behind bars for various crimes committed this past week in the Milnerton police cluster report said.
According to Tyger Burger, Western Cape police say the arrests were made during their weekly operations in their endeavor to combat crime diligently.
Captain Frederick van Wyk, a provincial police spokesperson, says the offences include being in possession of drugs, being in possession of dangerous weapons, warrants of arrest and assault.
Other crimes such as the contravention of a protection order and shoplifting also added to the total persons arrested, he says.
Other crimes for which people were locked up, includes urinating in public and drinking in public.
