Two Golden Arrow buses have come under attack in Khayelitsha over the past two days.
CAPE TOWN – The Golden Arrow Bus Service says it’s keeping a close eye on its operations in the Khayelitsha area.
Two of the company’s buses have been targeted in Makhaya over the past several days.
In the latest incident on Monday evening, a bus was set alight.
On Sunday, another bus was targeted.
The City of Cape Town’s Fire and Rescue Services says crews on Monday had to be escorted into the area by police due to protest action in the community.
Golden Arrow spokesperson Bronwen Dyke-Beyer said: “We’re monitoring our services very closely and we’ll avoid certain parts of Khayelitsha. We’re very disappointed and concerned by the attacks on our buses.”
