CAPE TOWN – Twelve drunk drivers have been arrested on Western Cape roads since the start of the weekend.
One motorist also lost his life on the N1 outside Paarl on Saturday night.
Western Cape traffic chief Kenny Africa says fines totalling more than R248,000 have been issued to motorists for transgression of traffic regulations.
“The highest alcohol reading recorded was one of 0,97 milligrammes per 1,000 millilitres. This was in Vredendal and we also arrested a drunk pedestrian in Vredendal. In George, we arrested one drive for bribery and corruption.”
