Trevor Noah has one more thing to celebrate after being the face on the cover of Time magazine.
He was named by Time as a next generation leader in their latest edition. The list includes artists, athletes, activists and entrepreneurs who are leaving a mark in the world.
The magazine labelled Noah “The Seriously Funny Comedian” and praised his work as the host of The Daily Show.
In an Instagram post, Time wrote: “Since his debut in 2015, the South African comedian has more than doubled the show’s international reach and he has now become the master of the eloquent Trump-takedown.”
In an interview with the American magazine, Noah spoke about why more people all around the world are watching The Daily Show.
“Donald Trump has made everyone interested in everything, everywhere. He’s a worldwide phenomenon. And with everything that’s going on—the Muslim ban, threats to women’s rights, the environment—I feel like I can finally say the show has a purpose.”
Noah couldn’t believe he was chosen to be on the cover of Time and expressed his shock on Twitter.
Wow it looks even crazier on a news stand. Look mom, I’m on the cover of Time magazine.
The comedian has his mother to thank for all the laughs he provides. ” I inherited a sense of humor from my mom, the ability to laugh in the face of danger, to mock it,” Noah said.
This is the second time Noah has appeared on the cover of Time magazine. The first time was in September 2016, just six months ago.
Now that’s what we call levels!
